He has been an Honorary Consultant in Haematology at The Christie since 2007 where he has a sub-specialty interest in myeloid malignancies including myelofibrosis, polycythaemia vera and essential thrombocythaemia. He is also a Senior Group Leader within the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute where he heads a research team investigating the biology of myeloid cancers, with a particular focus on the identification and development of new treatments for leukaemia.
