Paolo Pucci brings more than three decades of international biotechnology and pharmaceutical leadership, and has extensive experience serving on the boards of both private and publicly listed life sciences companies.

He was an executive at Eli Lilly & Co. from 1991 to 2001.  Subsequently with Bayer AG from 2001 to 2008, competing his service there as SVP & President of the Global Specialty Pharmaceuticals Business.  As Chief Executive Officer and a Director of ArQule from 2008 to 2020 , Paolo led the company through a strategic transformation into a focused precision oncology/haematology and rare diseases enterprise.  During his tenure he raised more than $500 million in financing and helped position the company for its approximately $2.7 billion acquisition by Merck Inc. in 2020.

Paolo began his Non Executive Director career in 2011 by joining Dyax Inc. (DYAX), and then subsequently joined the Boards of  Algeta ASA (Oslo Borse: ALGETA), New Link Genetics Inc ( NLNK), Trillium Therapeutics Inc. (TRIL), Tarus Inc (Private); Merus NV (MRUS).  He currently serves as an Independent Director at Replimune Group Inc. (REPL), West Pharmaceutical Services (WST), Chiesi Farmaceutici S.p.A. (Private) and AION Healthspan (Private).
