Nicola Little

Biostatistics Consultant, Alpha Medical Statistics

Nicola graduated from Cardiff University with a BSc honours degree in Mathematics and from the University of Wales, College of Medicine with an MPhil in Medical Statistics.

Nicola began her career in the NHS where she provided statistical input to research projects in the fields of cardiology and respiratory medicine.  Next, Nicola undertook a secondment to the Medical Data Research Center at St Vincents Hospital, Portland Oregon, where she worked on large cardiovascular and public health trials.

Nicola joined AstraZeneca as a Biostatistician in 2004. In her role as Statistical Science Director, Nicola was accountable for the provision of statistical input and strategy to drug development programmes in the fields of Oncology and Infection. Nicola defended pivotal trial designs to the FDA and EMA and worked on many successful submissions, including an Oncology programme that went from start of Phase I to NDA submission within 3 years.

In 2016, Nicola established Alpha Medical Statistics Ltd and works as a Statistical Consultant. She provides expert statistical input to study designs, protocols, regulatory documents and also provides analyses and visualisations.

Nicola has presented externally as statistical meetings such as PSI, PSI Oncology, EFSPI and DIA. She provides statistical expertise to in-licensing work, due diligence, IDMCs and advisory boards.
