Emma J. Searle

Consultant Haematologist, The Christie Hospital

Emma is a Consultant Haematologist and deputy medical director of the NIHR Clinical Research Facility at The Christie Hospital, and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester.

Emma set up and leads a service that specialises in treating patients with blood cancer in early phase clinical trials of new anti-cancer drugs, including first in human trials. Emma is Chief Investigator and Principal Investigator of numerous clinical trials, and she has a particular passion for raising awareness of the importance of clinical research amongst other health care professionals and with patients. Prior to her current role, Emma completed a PhD in targeted cancer therapies then worked for the University of Manchester as a Clinical Lecturer alongside completion of her haematology training.

Emma is Deputy Chair of the Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre Haematology Network Group, Chair of the British Society of Haematology Research and Grants Committee and a member of the UK AML Research Network and UK Myeloma Research Alliance.
