Del gained her PhD in Molecular Virology in 2000 at the Molecular Medicine Unit at St James Hospital, University of Leeds. Following a post doctoral research position and a Clinical Research Associate role with IQVIA (previously Quintiles), Del joined AstraZeneca in 2004 where she specialized in oncology and was responsible for delivery of first time in man and early phase oncology studies. During 12 years at AstraZeneca Del held a number of clinical roles including Senior Clinical Research Associate, Study Delivery Operational Specialist and Global Imaging Scientist.

More recently Del was a Global Project Manager at Syneos Health, where she was responsible for set up and delivery of full scope first in human studies in advanced solid tumours and patients with relapsed NHL, working for clients in Europe and the US.
