CellCentric’s differentiated approach and competitive advantage
CellCentric has privileged access to information and resources from over 30 leading research labs in the field of epigenetics. As a result, the company has a competitive advantage in both prioritising second generation epigenetic targets, and accelerating their associated drug discovery programmes.
Unparalleled research insight
CellCentric’s scientific founder is Prof. Azim Surani FRS CBE of the University of Cambridge. Prof Surani was one of the pioneers who identified a second ‘code’ or imprint beyond the genome. He went on to demonstrate the phenomenon of cellular reprogramming and the epigenetic mechanisms behind cell fate control which can be critical in causing disease.
Over the last six years, the company has built working relationships with over 30 leading epigenetic-related academic groups, currently predominantly in North America and Europe. Together these PIs have published more than 110 articles in Nature, Science and Cell and over 1000 in specific journals covering epigenetics. Their areas of expertise are in different but overlapping areas including developmental biology, chromatin modifying enzymes, cancer initiation models and clinical medicine.
The Discovery Network is based on equitable agreements and relationships. CellCentric does not publicise directly who is in the Network but Technology Transfer Offices of Institutions with which the company interacts include:
